Add screenshots to UXrepublic from Firefox
The UXrepublic extension for Firefox makes it easy for you to take screenshots of web pages straight from your browser.
How it works
You can use the UXrepublic extension for Firefox to take screenshots web pages and upload them directly to your UXrepublic account. After installing the UXrepublic extension for Firefox, you can access the the upload tools through the "Tools" section in the Firefox menu bar or by right-clicking on a web page to bring up the browser contextual menu. A new window will open with a preview of your image and an opportunity to add information to your screenshot.
Screenshot options
There are three ways you can choose to take a screenshot from the extension menu:
- Upload Complete Page
- This option will capture the entire web page, including parts of the page that are outside the current viewport.
- Upload Visible Portion
- Similar to the "Upload Complete Page" option, except it will only take a screenshot of what is currently visible.
- Upload Selection
- After choosing this option, you can draw a rectangular selection box on the page to determine what is captured.
System requirements
The UXrepublic Extension for Firefox requires Firefox version 2.0 or higher. You will also need a UXrepublic account to send your screenshots to.
Limitations
The UXrepublic Firefox extension can not take screenshots of plug-in generated content. This includes Flash, Quicktime, and Java. If you take a screenshot that includes this type of content, it will just show an "empty" area on the page where the plug-in is. This may or may not be a big deal to you. Also sometimes ridiculously huge pages can cause the extension to hang when you select "Upload Complete Page". This can be fixed by choosing the "Upload Visible Portion" or "Upload Selection" options instead.
Feedback
This extension is very much a work in progress. Please give us your feedback as to how we can improve it!
